As we countdown to the U.S. opening match, the Los Angeles World Cup 2026 Host Committee is proud to unveil the winning design for the Official FIFA World Cup 26™ Los Angeles Host City Poster.

Created by local artist Thieb Delaporte-Richard, the poster blends digital painting, collage, and illustration, with a strong focus on composition and color to reflect L.A.’s distinctive spirit, energy, and the excitement of the World Cup.

More than 900 L.A. County residents entered the Los Angeles Poster Design Contest last fall, and the winner was selected by five of Los Angeles County’s most esteemed experts in public art and cultural exhibitions. The selection committee was convened by the local philanthropic leader Annenberg Foundation, which the Host Committee worked closely with to reach and elevate emerging local designers and artists for the contest.

The final poster will be prominently featured leading up to Los Angeles hosting the U.S. Men’s National Team opening match on June 12, 2026.

ABOUT THE LA POSTER

Thieb’s poster blends various techniques, including digital painting, collage, and illustration, with a strong focus on composition and color. It captures the spirit of Los Angeles by blending the excitement of the World Cup with the city’s iconic energy. A player is about to kick a ball, which is subtly revealed to be the sun setting over LA, merging soccer’s energy with the city’s legendary sunsets that define its essence. The skyline reflects LA’s vibrant culture and diversity, while the silhouette of the player in motion embodies the global passion for soccer. Iconic palm trees and subtle references to Hollywood celebrate the city’s unique character, connecting the World Cup to LA’s world-renowned identity. Warm tones, drawn from the official host city colors, evoke the weather, golden hour, and moments that us Angelenos love and cherish, capturing the city’s optimistic energy.
