LOS ANGELES (June 12, 2024) — Today, the Los Angeles region celebrates two years to go until the United States Men’s National Team (USMNT) opens their FIFA World Cup 26™ at Los Angeles Stadium (SoFi Stadium) in Inglewood. Poised to be another pivotal moment for soccer in the United States, Los Angeles will be one of the primary host cities for the largest single-sport event in history with five Group Stage matches, two Round of 32 knockout matches, and one Quarterfinal in 2026.

LA has played host to the biggest sporting events in the world, including the 1994 FIFA World Cup™ and the 1999 FIFA Women’s World Cup™ which celebrate their 30th and 25th anniversaries respectively this summer.
