The U.S. Men’s National Team and LA Galaxy Icon will join the Los Angeles World Cup 2026 Host Committee as an Official Community Ambassador to ensure FIFA World Cup 26™ leaves a lasting impact for LA.

The Los Angeles World Cup 2026 Host Committee, led by the Los Angeles Sports & Entertainment Commission (LASEC), is excited to announce that soccer legend and LA native, Cobi Jones, will serve as a Official Community Ambassador for this once-in-a-generation event. Los Angeles will play a central role in the world’s largest single-sport event, as the region prepares to host eight matches at SoFi Stadium, including the U.S. Men’s National Team opening match on June 12, 2026, and deliver 39 days of fan engagement across the region.

As one of the leading figures in American soccer and a proud representative of LA’s rich soccer history, Jones will play a central role in making sure the national and international visitors have a wonderful experience in our city and everyone in our community has an opportunity to take part in the festivities. Jones played in the 1994 FIFA World Cup in LA and brings a deep connection to the sport and to the Los Angeles community. He will help the Host Committee team deliver a tournament experience that leaves a lasting and meaningful legacy for the region well beyond the final match.
